PURCHASING AND INVENTORY MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE

UNITY™ Tactical is seeking a talented and motivated purchasing and inventory manager who wants to employ his/her skills to manage inventory for the business. This person will work with suppliers to purchase goods and services for the company, serving as the main point of contact for our suppliers and managing purchase revisions and changes. He/she will manage inventory levels by cycle counting products and develop accurate reports on the stock of items. This person will establish reorder points and manage supplier scorecards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze purchasing trends and establish reorder points for materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels in our ERP system and place purchase orders at reorder points.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company.
  • Verify purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products.
  • Interact with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
  • Work with suppliers to process rejected material.
  • Authorize payments to suppliers and vendors, and maintain receipts, records and inventories.
  • Perform cycle counts of physical inventory routinely.
  • Monitor and control inventory practices to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain product identification and location programs.
  • Maintain item master record accuracy for purchased components, including updated manufacturer part number information, order modifiers and charge accounts.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and resolve potential issues.
  • Track inventory levels and provide regular reports and analysis.
  • Develop solutions for inventory issues, such as overstocking.
  • Inspect products and keep a record of damaged goods.
  • Manage deliveries and check products against logs.
  • Manage annual/ongoing supplier evaluation and scorecard system.
  • When necessary, locate new suppliers, research goods, services and materials. Interview and evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria. Possible travel to vendor facilities when necessary.
  • Develop deep knowledge and understanding of the UNITY Tactical brand, its business operations, products and customer-base.
  • Constant communication with team members.
  • Project management and ability to work on a deadline.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-7 years of experience in a purchasing, material manager or cycle counting role.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with associates, vendors and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to initiate and lead projects.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and eye for detail.
  • Resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, as well as independently.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Eagerness to learn and accept challenges.
  • Experience in Zoho a plus.
  • Ability to relocate and/or commute daily to Broussard, LA 70518.

ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

ABOUT THE ROLE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult production schedule to prepare work area and equipment.
  • Gather components needed to meet production schedules.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Follow technical instructions and assemble components.
  • Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Box and package finished products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Develop deep knowledge and understanding of the UNITY Tactical brand, its business operations, products and customer-base.
  • Constant communication with team members.
  • Project management and ability to work on a deadline.
